Bureau-Putnam Area Rural Transit, more commonly known as BPART, is the
curb-to-curb, demand-response public transportation system for Bureau and Putnam Counties (or those traveling to/from these counties.) Gateway Services act as the lead provider and administrator of the BPART system. The other service providers are St. Margaret's Hospital, Bureau County Senior Citizens Association, and Putnam County Achievement Services.
To schedule a ride, call (877) 874-8813 by noon the business day before a trip. However, since demand is so high, it is recommended to call as soon as you know you will need a ride. Hours are typically from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Fees are based on distance traveled, and riders over the age of 60 may travel for free (or a donation, if they choose.)
Gateway Services has been providing public transportation (as BART) since 1988. To learn more about BPART, visit www.ridebpart.org.
