Welcome to the web site for Gateway Services, Inc. I am happy you
chose to visit. We are a community-based organization that provides
comprehensive services to adults and children with disabilities and
their families in Bureau, Marshall, and Putnam Counties, Illinois. We
are committed to high quality supports that help individuals fully
participate in and enrich the community to which we all belong.
A lot has changed since Gateway’s humble beginnings in 1970 in an
abandoned school house in Malden, Illinois. Developing and
embracing a philosophy of full inclusion, we closed our sheltered
workshop in 1997 and focused resources on supporting persons at
real jobs for real pay in the community. Holding to the belief that
living supports should be provided in the least restrictive, most
natural environment, our group homes have a maximum of seven
persons. Many individuals receiving services from Gateway live on
their own with support from Gateway staff as appropriate.
As a person served, friend, volunteer, donor, or staff member, you
have an opportunity to be part of the Gateway family. Please
